Theralase® Cool Laser Therapy (CLT)

 

Safe

Theralase® laser systems produce photons that are absorbed by tissue triggering a host of biological responses designed to eliminate pain, reduce inflammation, and accelerate healing. Unlike Class 4 laser systems, Theralase® technology does not generate heat and therefore does not pose a risk of damaging or burning tissue. Theralase® laser systems are pain-free, drug-free, non-toxic, and non-invasive, with no known side effects.

Eliminate Pain 

Theralase® dual-wavelength low-level laser therapy systems eliminate pain at the source by rebalancing the sodium-potassium pump (i.e., the flow of sodium and potassium ions across the cell membrane), to eliminate the transmission of pain across the nerve.

Effective

Theralase® treatments often generate immediate results and routinely produce efficacy rates of over 90%. More than 4,000 clinical studies have demonstrated the efficacy of low-level laser therapy. 

Reduce Inflammation

Photons delivered by Theralase® low-level laser therapy systems activate the Nitric Oxide (NO) pathway, significantly increasing the production of NO, a potent vasodilator. Vasodilation promotes increased blood flow to injured/damaged tissue, thereby helping to reduce inflammation and swelling.

A Powerful Alternative for Pain Management

Theralase® cool laser treatments are a safe and effective alternative to oral analgesics (including Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDs) and acetaminophen/Tylenol), corticosteroid injections, opiate pain medications (including OxyContin and Oxycodone that have the potential to be highly addictive, relatively toxic, and prone to overdose), and surgery. Drug-free and pain-free, Theralase® treatments minimize recovery times without any known side effects or discomfort to patients.

Accelerate Healing

Theralase® cool laser therapy activates the Adenosine Triphosphate (ATP) pathway within the mitochondria of the cell. The increased production of ATP provides more cellular energy for injured or damaged cells to initiate and accelerate the tissue repair process.

Optimized Treatments

Using individual patients’ physical characteristics and biometric information, Theralase® laser therapy systems can be used to customize treatment protocols, thereby optimizing therapeutic results.

Optimal Dose of Light

To be effective, laser therapy devices must:

(a) generate light of the correct wavelength

(b) penetrate tissue to the required depth

(c) deliver the required dose of light to the tissue of interest

(d) stimulate a biological response

However, every patient is different. The depth that the laser energy must penetrate before reaching the target tissue and the patient’s optical profile (determined by skin colour, subcutaneous fat, muscle content, bone density, hydration levels, oxygen perfusion, and vascular density) can vary greatly from one patient to another.

As a result, each treatment needs to be customized for every patient to ensure that they are receiving the optimal dosage of laser energy.

To achieve this, Theralase® low-level laser therapy systems employ customizable pre-programmed treatment protocols that adjust to meet patients’ needs. Using superpulsed laser technology, Theralase® systems are able to penetrate deeper (up to 5” or 12.7 cm) into tissue without generating a thermal effect, targeting and reaching the affected area(s) using tried and true treatment protocols that can be customized to fit the requirements of individual patients.
