Dr. Matthieu Gatineau, DMV, IPSAV, MSc, Dipl. ACVS-ECVS & ACVSMR
Dr. Gatineau graduated from the Ecole Nationale Vétérinaire de Toulouse (France) in 2006. He then successfully completed a general internship in small animal at the University of Montreal Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (IPSAV) in 2007. He completed an internship in surgery at the DMV Center from 2007 to 2008 and then directly began an AVCS-ECVS (American College of Veterinary Surgeons and European College of Veterinary Surgeons) residency program and a Master of Clinical Sciences in surgery at the University of Montreal on biomaterials and surface analysis of orthopedic implants. Dr Gatineau is to date the only surgeon Diplomate ACVSMR in Quebec.
Dr. Gatineau has the expertise to perform orthopaedic surgery, neurosurgery and soft tissue surgery. Dr Gatineau also developed a particular expertise in minimally invasive surgery (Laparoscopy and Thoracoscopy). He has a special interest in physiotherapy and rehabilitation. Dr. Gatineau is the author of numerous scientific publications. He regularly participates in research projects and gives continuing education in Quebec and he has also lectured in Europe (France, Switzerland, Italy) and Canada.
Since May 2011, Dr Gatineau joined the surgical staff of the DMV Center.
Dr. Elizabeth Angelevski, Director of Clinical Education and Training, B.Sc., D.C.
Dr. Angelevski graduated from McMaster University with a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Kinesiology. Her interest in the workings of the human body and mind, as well as in movement and rehabilitation, brought her to the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College. After 4 years of intense study, she graduated with a Doctor of Chiropractic degree in 2009. Dr. Angelevski returned to McMaster University to complete the Contemporary Medical Acupuncture program and has completed post-graduate training in Custom Orthotic Therapy. She has also completed a certificate program in Advanced Clinical Anatomy.
Dr. Angelevski is currently the Director of Clinical Education and Training at Theralase and runs a successful clinic at the Theralase Pain Therapy Clinic. She has a keen professional interest in helping patients achieve optimal health and well-being through the use of laser therapy. She is dedicated to improving their quality of life through laser treatment programs that are specifically designed for each patient. Dr. Angelevski strongly believes that education is an essential component. Therefore, each patient is guided to effectively manage and prevent the condition from recurring.
